Approached to do a Paid Review - my First Time
Today I got a mail from TNX. The wanted me to do a review for them and asked how much I would charge. Weird situation. I thought “Hmm, how much will I charge?”, when I remembered something: I don’t want to do paid reviews.
I don’t want to bash people who do them. If you think it fit’s your blog - great. I just don’t think that paid reviews are what my readers visit my blog for.
I wrote TNX a mail and told them that, while I think that their service is really interesting, I’d have to decline the offer, simply because I don’t do paid reviews. If they wanted to rent one of the 125×125 banners in my sidebar, that would be possible, though (See? I’m not against making money).
Although I declined their offer, I think that TNX should at least get a mini review here. I find their service rather interesting, especially for small and/or new blogs (And after all, I felt kinda flattered that such a company asks a little guy like me for a review).
TNX.net
TNX is an advertising platform. As a publisher you paste some code into your theme’s sidebar. For every link you will be rewarded with points. These you can either sell at a fixed price or use to advertise on other blogs.
Unlike Text Link Ads (affl), TNX is available to anyone, although the higher your Pagerank is, the higher is the amount of points you get.
On their website they state that they charge both the advertiser and the publisher 12.5% commission (TLA keeps 50% commission from the publisher).
If you want to put up some text link ads on your blog (and your blog doesn’t qualify for TLA yet), maybe TNX is worth a shot.

You declined $$$ for reviewing their site, yet you kind of reviewed them anyway?
Uhm, kinda. I did it for free (Well, it’s a really short review), but as I wrote in the post, I told them that they could rent a banner. If you look to the right, there it is.
So, I did a paid unpaid review. Or an unpaid review with associated banner business? Damn, this is a weird day. *g*
I feel like I’m in a commercial for TNX.
Not sure what is the real stance Google has taken of paid reviews lately but I am sure they are not the biggest fans out there of paid reviews.
Lol. The review was compact but precise. Good for them though!

That’s great of you to do such a thing. Even though you have a principle of not doing paid reviews and yet you still give them a review for something. That’s very good of you.
This is the first time am knowing about TNX.net. I have to try out this advertisement platform. Angeline @ Marcus evans scam
