Stumble into the Weekend 03/14
Welcome to this week’s installment of SitW. Every Friday I link to blog posts I have liked & stumbled over the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
- I want to start with Maki’s “How to Build a Successful News Blog: 10 Information Sources You Can Use“. He doesn’t post as much as he used to, but when he does, he delivers great content. This is no exception. Hint: Not only recommended for news-bloggers.
- At Search Engine Journal, Loren offers “Explosive Organic & Paid Link Building Tips“. And if Loren writes it, you know you want to read it. Don’t be afraid of the dirty p-word.
- Let’s lighten it up a little. I’ve always loved quote collections, so when I read Daniel’s “50 Thoughful, Funny and Polemic Blogging Quotes“, I just couldn’t resist to stumble it. There are some really nice ones in it.
- At Pure Blogging, Steven posted a list of “99 Ways to Improve Your Blog“, covering a lot of issues, from content to marketing and monetization. That should be enough to offer some useful tips for everyone.
- What? 99 is not enough for you? Uhm, okay. How about Khalid’s “152 Dos & Don’ts of Business Blogging“? Yeah, that’s what I thought. There’s some great advice, not only for the business blogger.

What a cool idea — listing your many favorite stumbles as an aggregator on your blog. I’ll have to “borrow” your idea! Dosh Dosh is a favorite for me — I frequent his site and have gleaned some very useful tips over the past months.
In the 99 ways to improve you blog, I think that “Link Out More Often” is a really good one… just make sure you are linking to esatblished sites, otherwise google will own you

These are all excellent posts, but I personally liked the one on linkbuilding.
I’ll view anything with 152 reasons, if only for the fact that I wanted to see how anyone could come up with that many reasons for something!

Everyone’s got a list of things to do as bloggers, or things not to do. There’s so many lists these days for these kinds of things, it’s getting a bit frustrating. Really, the key to blogging is churning out quality content. This will never change, so long as the target audience is still for humans. So I guess if I was forced to produce a list, it would only have that one item.

There are a lot many ides which we can find on the internet to make our blog more attractive. We always try to make our blog good and ideas which we find on the internet can make our blog attractive and attract a lot many people.
The article at “Search Engine Journal” was great. I thought a “No-Follow” link was useless but apparently it has limited value. Thanks.

99 Ways to Improve Your Blog is a very useful post!
Love the list. My favorite was the Stumble quotes. They were all funny and true, but the one that really caught my eye was this one: 16. “I believe the term “blog” means more than an online journal. I believe a blog is a conversation. People go to blogs to read AND write, not just consume.” (Michael Arrington).
I always like to give my gratification as I find so helpful u are.Your informations are protecting me from doing many mistakes and thus assisting to be a successful blogger.

Stumbleupon can bring some serious traffic to a blog (or any website for that matter), but generally the traffic is useless. But hey! traffic is traffic, eh?

I get to call my hours, as well as my rates. I really focus on building my skillet to a level where I can work as quickly and efficiently as possible, while turning out ever-better quality for my clients. I do this not to be able to keep jam-packing my workday, but to be able to have a lot of free time to myself, to relax and learn new skills (cooking, playing the piano).
Through a system of living frugally, and working efficiently, I’ve found myself doing as well financially as many of my friends and college alum working up to 60 hour work weeks, when I’m just down in the 30’s (sometimes less!). I have learned that all those ways to get tons of links are not feasible now. The engines are getting very clever and can feel if you try to get fake links. So blogging gives you a smart edge here. Good links! The more I get into the organic vs paid seo, the more questions that I have. But as someone else said in an earlier post, there sure are a lot of opinions/theories out there, and it can get confusing.
